Comments:

There is parking at approximately 53.636823,-2.628101, but only out of school hours (the gates are shut and locked on a Sunday but I can't vouch for other days or times). There is a forty MPH road to cross, it does have a central island near the r'bout but there are no lowered curbs. There is a large kissing gate, possibly a very rustic stile if the fence is repaired, steps and lots of mud. Final GZ is up a quite steep banking of course the final decision is, as always, yours. Hope this helps.

Cheers

Schnuz.

Comments:

Well defined paths for much of the way but the ground was soft and boggy in places.

There is a slope to negotiate at GZ which is slippery when wet.

Distance based on parking at N 53° 37.957 W 002° 37.517.

If you are doing the series in order then the distance from your chosen start point will probably be greater.

Also possible to park on the carpark at N 53° 37.913 W 002° 37.568 - there is no charge and no obvious restrictions in place - possibly as the golf course is owned by Chorley Council and forms part of Yarrow Valley Park. Parking here though does not offer a natural pathway in the direction of GZ - sloping, boggy ground to negotiate down to the lower level and then you'll need to find the bridge to get across the river.

There is a bridge at roughly N 53° 38.036 W 002° 37.541

If you stick to the defined paths through the woods they are generally pretty flat and solid, with a few muddy patches. If you take the route I took then it's much more uneven, soft, loose, muddy and sloping, but I did manage to run most of the way with only slight spattering to my work trousers :).

GZ is also up a slight slope which is slippery in wet weather.

It may be possible to get to within a few feet of GZ on wheels, but don't quote me on it.
